Dear friends,

First, I would like to say a big thank you to every member of the Folie community who has continued to enjoy spending time with us on Golden Square and support us during this extremely challenging time. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided today to temporarily close Folie. This is the most difficult decision I have ever had to make but there is nothing more important than the health and wellbeing of my staff and guests.

I would like to thank my wonderful team who did an amazing job to successfully launch the restaurant only four months ago. I hope these difficult times won’t last long and we will soon be reunited and return to offering our guests memorable experiences at Folie.

In the meantime, we are introducing an opportunity to bring a little Folie to your home, while ensuring a safe environment, with everything from our food and menus to our extensive wine list, including bespoke tableware and silverware and also our great music playlist or DJs. I hope those dark times will soon be a distant memory and we will all be together again and raise a FOLIE Martini to a wonderful reopening.

FOLIE is a restaurant and a bar located on Golden Square, where Soho meets Mayfair – we want to reflect both sides of Regent Street!

All day long, our guests are invited to experience a taste of the Riviera, from Marseille to Portofino, through St Tropez and Nice, combined with the dining out spirit of modern London.

Designed by Studio KO, the interiors aim to recreate the sensuality and glamour of the 1960’s and 70’s, with a modern sensibility.

I want my first restaurant to be a meeting point for conviviality, elegance and a little folie.

Guillaume Depoix

Bar – Open all day and until late night, the Folie bar specialises in modern interpretations of classic cocktails, from bellinis to negronis. Our signature (very dry) Folie Martini is the essential aperitif! There’s also a selection of rare and unusual pastis and vermouths, together with fine Armagnac and other digestifs. Alongside the drinks list, we offer a menu of épicerie essentials, from pissaladiére and crudités with tapenades to charcuterie and panisse – the Marseille apéritif.

Wines - While our menus focus on the Riviera, the wine list has a broader reach, including renowned vineyards across Europe. We are pleased to offer a fine selection of grande marques and grower champagnes, with prestige cuvées such as vintage Krug. Harry Ballmann, our head of drinks, has curated a list with a bias towards the top chateaux and domaines of Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley. Both Guillaume and Harry are fans of large format bottles so you can expect a decent selection of magnums and jeroboams, ideal for special celebrations or large tables. The list is constantly evolving with new vintages and top producers added each week.

Led by Executive Head Chef Christophe Marleix (Hôtel Plaza Athénée; The Dorchester; Annabel’s), the kitchen draws inspiration from all along the French and Italian Mediterranean coastline. The menu is a gentle combination of luxurious ingredients and the humble recipes of the region - sensitively modernised for London 2019. Christophe sources and champions seasonal ingredients from small-scale UK farmers, with fish from day boats in Cornwall and Devon, England’s own Riviera, together with artisanal producers from France and Italy.

The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM to 11 AM. A daily menu, served in 45 minutes, is available from Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 6.00 PM. The brunch menu is every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.

FOLIE’s dining room includes a semi-private section for up to 30 guests perfect for an intimate gathering.
Guest are offered a range of set menus for both seated and standing events. We can also offer an exclusive hire of the restaurant up to 80 guests seated and 150 guests standing.
